NatWest Trustee and Depositary Services (TDS) has completed phase one of the launch of its purpose-built cloud-based depositary platform and has transitioned its first tranche of customers and processes to the platform, with the aim of transitioning all clients before the end of the year.

The new platform allows TDS to move towards its goal of becoming an automated, digital, cloud-based provider of depositary services with the ability to share relevant and valuable insights based on comprehensive data on topics such as liquidity, ESG, thematic trends and certain events in share classes or broader investor groups. Daily ingestion of client data will enable the platform to identify issues faster and create efficiencies in the oversight process.

Mark Crathern, Managing Director, NatWest Trustee and Depositary Services commented on the launch, “The evolution of Fund Governance utilising cloud native, digital technology optimising and streamlining the use of data is an important step forward and aligns neatly with the implementation of consumer duty requirements. We are delighted to be live with our offering which we believe will assist clients and provide greater investor protection in the long run.”
