A few simple steps to follow when you receive your card

You can use your new Visa Debit card in exactly the same way you use your existing card. You can pay for goods and services on the high street, online or over the phone.

Your PIN number won't change, so there's no new number to remember.

When you get your new Visa Debit card you should:

  • Start using it right away - you may need to activate your card to enjoy the benefits of Visa Debit
  • Destroy your existing card - make sure you cut through the magnetic strip and the chip

Existing card not expired?

You don't need to wait until your existing card expires before you start using your new Visa Debit card. Your existing card will automatically be cancelled shortly after we send you your new card, even if the expiry date is some time away.
