Debit cards
The easy way to pay
Why make life complicated? Our debit card is the simple solution when you're paying in person, over the phone or over the internet.
Purchases
Look out for the logo on your card - you can use your debit card to pay for goods and services wherever you see that logo displayed. Just remember that you'll need to use your personal identification number (PIN).
Overseas travel
Your card is just as handy on the beach as it is in your local shop. In fact, you can use it to pay for goods and services at nearly 5 million places across the world.
Security
Making online payments with your card? There's online purchase protection with RBS Secure.
Card activation
- online - simply log in to your online banking service, select 'Account admin' from the main menu, then from the 'Activate debit card' section click on 'Activate debit card' and follow the onscreen instructions. If you are not registered for Digital banking, why not sign up today.
- over the phone – one of our Telephony agents will activate your debit card for you.
- by post – please return the card activation slip you received with your debit card.
- in branch – please hand in the card activation slip at your local branch.
If you are receiving a replacement debit card you will not need to activate it unless you are also receiving a replacement PIN.
