Structured deposits
Realise your returns, protect your money
Do you want more than just a straightforward savings account but wish to avoid the potential risks of investing in the stock market?
We offer a range of Structured Deposits throughout the year. These enable you to take advantage of potential stock market growth without the costs and risk associated with direct stock market investment.
Our Structured Deposits are available in a range of currencies and varying terms (2 to 5½ years). The minimum deposit amount varies with some products being available for deposits of just £5,000.
Structured Deposits link to a wide range of underlying stock market indices. Previously these have included the FTSE 100 Index, S&P 500, Halifax House Price Index, UK Balanced Sector Index and the RBS Green Index, among many others.
All our Structured Deposits provide full capital protection if you hold your account until maturity and some of our offers are also combined with guaranteed minimum returns or attractive interest rates on an element of your deposit.
Although there aren’t any Structured Deposits available at the moment, these products have proved popular in the past and are only available on a limited basis, so keep visiting this page for details of new product launches.
Previous accounts have included:
- Combi Saver – offered customers the perfect combination of a market leading instant access savings account and stock market growth potential based on the performance of the FTSE 100 Index.
- Trilogy – one account, three great ways to save. Customers benefited from an attractive interest rate whilst also taking advantage of potential growth in the UK housing market and international stock markets.
- Elements – customers benefited from an attractive rate of interest while taking advantage of growth in emerging ‘Green’ business sectors. 1/3 of the deposit was placed in a 1 year cash deposit account with a preferential rate of interest, while the remaining 2/3 was placed into a 4 year deposit account with returns based on the averaged performance of the ‘RBS Green Index’
- Sectors Issue 3 – customers benefited from the potential growth in either emerging ‘environmental’ or established UK business sectors. 1/4 of the deposit was placed in a 1 year cash deposit account with a preferential rate of interest, whilst the remaining 3/4 was placed into a 4 year deposit account with returns based on the averaged performance of the 'RBS Environmental Strategy Index' or the 'RBS UK Balanced Sector Index'.
